The several days before. I'm looking for information on the Eccotemp L5 Portable Tankless Water Heater and Outdoor Shower, so i would like to describe here.
This morning I received my tankless water heater. was well packaged and the instructions are pretty good. I loved the "extras" that are usually "optional at extra cost," as the shower head, mounting hardware and connecting the propane tank. but (there's always a "but"!), unless you have plumbing Fittings handy, plan on a trip to the hardware store. the thread in which you must connect are rough and not especially good cut, something that seems to be common items from China, so you definitely need to have the teflon tape or plumber's PuTTY useful. on my unit, the hose connections to the shower head leak bad at both ends. not that big a deal because it is intended as a shower, just a nuisance. and, the male thread shower head is a little short, then one end of the hose would screw up far enough not to lose too badly, but the other end would spray water everywhere until I inverted the tube. then it's just leaked at the water heater outlet. the hose connection (another nice element) does not have a rubber gasket. as for the water heater, works quite well. My incoming water is about 50 degrees and the water flow all the way down and the gas flow all the way up, it got hot enough to be uncomfortable. until a slight wind blew out the flame. be sure to plan to use this product in a place sheltered from the wind. even a slight breeze, approximately 10 MPH (rough estimate), extinguish the flame, it will give you a SIP of cold water and require you to turn the switch, turn the flame. I have not played with it enough to be sure, but my impression is that the unit does not keep a constant temperature of water outlet. Read more ›
